1608 Wins Award at March of Dimes “Signature Chef Auction”

Chef Kevin Sharkey of 1608 Crafthouse participated in the recent “March of Dimes – Signature Chef Auction” at The Founders Inn and Spa. In additions to raising $1,300 for the March of Dimes, a sampling of 1608’s top notch cuisine. The 1608 offerings were as follows:


Alter Ego Braised Pork Belly Biscuit,
4 hour pork, Semolina Biscuit with VA Peach/Bourbon Chutney


Ox Tail Chili
with Crispy House-Made Pork Rhinds


Locally sourced Ingredients: Waders Mill Semonila
Flour, Saunders Brothers Loural Peaches, John J
Bowman Virginia Whiskey, Smithfield Pork Products

The attendants enjoyed thesamples so much, Chef Kevin Sharkey was presented with an award for his use of sustainable, local, and organic ingredients! Thank you to the March of Dimes for putting on such a lovely benefit, and for presenting 1608 Crafthouse with this wonderful award!
