1608’s Chef and Owner, Kevin Sharkey, was the subject of a recent VA Magazine article. In the photo above, Chef Kevin Sharkey can be seen proudly displaying his Stout Braised Pork Shoulder Sandwich, on of the restaurant’s best sellers. “If these walls could talk, they’d tell stories of some really great meals.
This building was originally Lucky Star, one of the region’s most celebrated eateries. Then it was a location of Mannino’s, another lauded restaurant. And now it is 1608 Crafthouse, a chef-driven, farm-to-table eatery where chef/owner Kevin Sharkey is again pleasing palates.
Delicious dishes are augmented with an extensive list of craft beers. One of our favorite bites: Stout Braised Pork Shoulder. It’s a shame to call it a sandwich because it’s so much more: the 14-hour pork is piled on Cuban bread along with creamy grits and garlic broccolini. Great, now we’re hungry.”
